Our Collie is now 8 and he's been a great dog.

Yes, he chewed our wooden blinds and ate our leather couch but we still love him.

We are in the process of renovating our home and the issue of his water bowls (2) came up. We have the bowls elevated but he just makes a total mess.

Anyone have a good idea to deal with this?

Our dogs drink outside… No inside water bowl, unless you count the toilet, which we frown upon .

Other than that there’s no dripless way to have a dog water bowl. A big dog is gonna make at least some mess. Put it outside on the porch! Or choose flooring that is waterproof.

I feel your pain, I have two big dogs and all they do is sip and slop all over the kitchen floor. I just leave a hand towel on the floor and use my foot to wipe the floor ten times a day.

At least he's not a mean drinker.

I had the same problem with my greyhound and it drove me nuts; constantly mopping up after her. Then I found this dog bowl on Amazon and never looked back!

https://www.amazon.com/UPSKY-Upgrade...ps%2C71&sr=8-6

Highly recommend it.

Smile Thank you!

I will check this out and see how he does and report back.

He never seems to get enough water.

Sweetheart of a dog - he is just so kind, gentle and a social butterfly.

I put my dog's elevated bowls on a boot tray and a waterproof kitchen mat under that, and that helped alot.

I've been having a doggy for over 20 years and it never occurred to me to do this! Thanks!

We have a rubber mat thingy that's made specifically for pet water messes. It helps, but doesn't eliminate the problem.

Love that bowl design Ceira, thank you. Going to look into this.
I have a Great Pyrenees. Raised bowls. I just have a large bath towel by the water bowl to wipe his mouth and chest after he's done. Otherwise, he slings it all over the place.

*Maybe I should trade my towel in for a mop, lol

This should be a concern as it is a sign of diabetes.
