To be honest; Bonnie the Beagle did not win a conformation placement at the dog show. A gentleman bringing his dogs to the show found her, on the side of the road, and brought her to the show, then put her photo on Facebook asking if anyone was missing. The missing dog's owners contacted him and set up a meeting for after the show. The show dogs' owner entered Bonnie in a "Rescue Dog" class and she earned a ribbon; which is really quite sweet. But there's no way that Bonnie, or any dog, could have been entered in a conformation class on the spot at a dog show; the entries are made weeks earlier.
The joy of the story is that it has a happy ending for Bonnie the Wandering Beagle; with a show-dog owner as a good samaritan and a rosette for the lost-and-found girl. It could have been horribly different.

Yes, that's true. But coming home with a 3rd place ribbon for "Rescue Dog" class is awesome.
When I was a kid I entered one of my dogs in a competition at the local fair. My dog won first place in the "Best Behaved" category which made us all laugh. I still have that ribbon somewhere I think.
