This is a great slide show with explanations of an older "helper" dog being used to soothe an anxious young dog. Elliot the helper dog is clearly a very well-balanced empathetic dog well-suited for what he is doing.

From Bad Rap's Facebook page:
Twenty slides showing a greeting ritual between a concerned female dog (Emmalou) and an experienced male (Elliot) who uses eons-old canine body language to communicate: "You are safe."

Very nice...thanks for the link.

I work with two breed specific rescues and often foster dogs. My own personal dog is much like the dog in the slide show. She's calm and aloof around the new dog...I recognize many of her . In fact, I have four personal dogs and all display this good behavior. They make me very proud and it's easy for me to foster.
