We take our dogs when we travel almost all the time.
We stay in Motel 6's mostly, they have super cheap pet fees. Make sure to check the reviews, most cities have more then one Motel 6 and we've found that there is always one really nice one and the rest are sketchy lol

We always bring special treats and leave the TV on. Hard to bark when you have a tasty new treat in your mouth
Bully Sticks, pig ears(just make sure they aren't eating huge chunks of it) sometimes we bring training treats(the really small ones) and scatter them around the room, they go nuts trying to find them all then they sleep.

Are your pups crate-trained?

My older Aussie was crate-trained when I got her. Her breeder did that because she was going to be shipped to me as a 13-week old puppy. Since she's an Aussie, I got her into Agility. Some of our trials are out of town and we have to stay in hotel rooms. So, about 2 weeks before her first hotel trip, I purchased a collapsible travel crate and we began training her to sleep in our room in her travel crate. This way, when we took the same crate with us, she knew the routine. Worked like a charm.

She was not a barky dog before, so she didn't bark when we were in the hotel room with odd and different noises.

Benadryl -- never heard of that for dogs!
How much would you give a 60 lb dog, and how many hours apart for next dose-- same as for humans?
Thanks!

Training the dogs not to bark at every little noise is the best way to keep peace at a hotel or at home.
Beyond that find a dog sitter or board them while you are gone.

I always bring Benadryl with me when we travel with the dogs. Not for keeping them quiet in the the hotel but in case they get stung by something. Write the dosage in a sharpie on the container so you don't need to do math if your dog is swelling up from trying to eat a bee.
