Hello,
I have never written on a forum before. I am seeking advise. My dog is a rat terrier, 14 1/2 years old. She is urinating in the house several times a day and now defecating. Sparkles is a great eater, and when not sleeping constantly walking(dementia). I am afraid to take her to the vet. I know this is selfish. I am trying to gain knowledge before I take if there is medication to control both bladder and bowel control or is it time I send her to heaven? Thank you.

So sorry your furkid is having problems.

A visit to the vet is essential. It may be the dementia or it could be something neurologic. It does not necessarily mean you need to consider euthanasia. Get a diagnosis first and go from there.

I, too, think that you should take her to the vet to get a diagnosis. If there are meds to control it, only your vet will know and be able to prescribe it anyway.

Kind of off-topic but since she's "constantly walking," I noticed in the picture (Sparkles is adorable!!!!) that her nails are EXTREMELY long. I'm guessing that she doesn't love getting her nails clipped, but nails like that must hurt her paws TREMENDOUSLY when she's walking.
