His foster mom tube feeds him every 3 hours. He will need a series of surgeries to have his palette restored and then he will be able to eat and drink normally. At that point he will be adoptable.

I haven't checked in the last couple of days; usually I have to have a daily serving of Lentil ; I thought his mom was in the process of formally adopting him?
We got one when he was 3 months old... he's now almost 8 months and we have a 4 month old daughter at home. People thought we were crazy to get the dog right before my wife had our baby but we knew we always wanted a dog and we felt that having them grow up together would be so important.
He's such a sweetheart... although a little trouble-maker but he's still a puppy. Very loving... and his name is Baxter. I told my wife if we ever had a dog it had to be a Baxter... lol.
Here is the FB post from his owner in case I'm not supposed to link a FB post, I think I read that on here before:

I knew this day would come, I just didn’t think it would be today. This morning, Lentil passed away. He waited for me and the way he looked at me, I knew something was wrong. My goodness…he and I were so bonded, I would always know. I picked him up to take him to ER and he passed in my arms before I even got to the car…Rest well, Lentil. He accomplished so much in his short time and I guess it was just his time to say goodbye to all of us….
