First let me say 'I am going to call vet this AM' I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

My Weim threw up early this AM some black yucky stuff. She is the one who had a mass cell tumor removed a couple of weeks ago. She doesn't act sick as she spends hows running around the yard chasing the squirrels.

She has been eating and AFAIK she doesn't have diarrhea.

I swear this has been a horrible last few weeks. 2 dogs with cancer surgeries and 1 of them bitten by a spider. Geez..

Oh my gosh! Poor Weimy girl. And poor you and the other "event" dogs.

Artie's never puked up black stuff and my only guess would have been that maybe your girl ate some dirt yesterday and is now "releasing" it. I'm happy that you're taking her to the vet. I, of course, hope it's nothing, especially since she's already recently dealt with a tumor removal. Poor girl.

Please let us know once you're back from the vet. And give that girl a hug and a smooch from me. And give yourself one of each too.

Oh yeah.. I forgot I have 3 little dogs with a cold or Kennel cough. Ironically they all had the kennel cough vaccine but were due to get shot again this month.

Ok.. so I jusr found another spot and it appears that it is a chewed up stick or something like that as you can see stuff that it looks like tree limb.

I guess the way things are going I just expect everything to be bad news,.

Best guess is an ulcer maybe? Throwing up bile? If the "tree limb" could be coffee ground looking stuff...but I'm hoping it is what it is - she's been playing beaver! I swear - the mastiff eats so many twigs it's a wonder he isn't pooping toothpicks...

Oh I hope it is just a tree branch! Sending positive thoughts.
About the kennel cough vaccine, it's like a flu shot. There are many different strains of kennel cough and it only covers a few of them. It's a not the most effective shot but so many kennels, etc. require it.

Black stuff is often blood. If so, it is an emergency situation and needs to be seen promptly.

That's what I was thinking, but she found evidence of a stick or twig. Hopefully it didn't puncture inside.
