My guess would be some kind of Lab/ Shepherd mix. She looks a lot like a Lab to me, but her tail makes me think of a Shepherd or maybe even Golden. I don't really see any of the "pit bull" breeds in her. All of the "pit bull" breeds are small-medium breeds and American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers and Staffordshire Bull Terriers don't have very thick coats, their tails are thin and not very long, they have wide heads and very, very well defined muscles. Whatever she is though, she is absolutely adorable and looks like a sweet heart!

Thanks, everyone! I never thought Shepherd because her hair isn't that long, and she doesn't have any dark features, plus, she has a smaller build... but it makes sense the way her tail is. Thanks for all this feedback! She's such a princess. I don't think of her as a "dog-dog". She's very well behaved and lady-like. We got very lucky!

I don't think she's a Shepherd mix. Not only is her build too small, but she doesn't have lower hind quarters. She's almost all lab. The only things that give away that she's not a pure breed is her eyes, ears and tail. I'll bet one of her parents was a pure breed yellow lab and the other parent was 1/2 pure yellow lab, 1/4 pure yellow lab and 1/4 something else. She's not part golden retriever because she doesn't have fringe. Plus, she needs to be part of some type of dog that has standing up ears to account for how her ears flop. Her wolf type eyes are also another clue.

So I think she's 3/4 yellow labrador and 1/4 dingo.

Think there are no dingos in the United States? Think again.

There's a dog called the American Dingo aka Carolina Dog.

She looks like a princess! We don't think of our dogs as "dog-dogs" either. They just act so human like at times! It's like they know exactly whats going on and they each have their own personality and since of humor! It does sound like you are lucky to have her, and it sounds like she's lucky to have you as well!

I have to say that I agree with you. She does look like she's mostly lab and after looking at the Dingo I definitely see the resemblance. I think your right, or at least right about her being 3/4 yellow lab.

I was origionally going with husky because of the wolf eyes. However, she doesn't look like any lab/husky mixes in google search.

In my further searching dogs with wolf eyes, dingo seems to be the best match.

Oh my GOSH! I think you nailed it!!!! I hand't thought of a Dingo -- but that's because I don't think I new for sure what that breed was. I can absolutely see it in her eyesy, ears AND forehead! Thank you all so much for the great input! In that picture, that body looks so much like our Jossie, save for the face... she even has that white marking... THANK YOU!
