We have about half an acre, so once a week or every couple of weeks, I go out with two grocery bags...one to put poop in and one to put on my hand to pick poop with. I like waiting a few days because then the poop is all dessicated and hard and easy to pick up.
I get a giant bag of poop. Then I stand there and am sad I don't have something funny or pranky to do with that giant plastic bag of poop.
Then I throw in the big trash can that goes out on the curb on Thursdays.
my sister lets hers sit in the yard and then on saturday she goes around with the pooper scooper she bought at petsmart , and piles it all up and burns it . she lives on a big lot and none of her neighbors say anything and I told her to be grateful she lives in a good neighborhood . I cannot imagine the smell when she does this but Im not around thank god .
Congratulations on your home purchase and potential furry addition! For managing dog waste, it's best to pick it up regularly. You can use biodegradable bags, double the bag to contain the smell and dispose of them in a designated pet waste bin. Burying it in the yard may not be ideal due to hygiene and potential contamination. Keeping a separate bin helps maintain a clean and odor-free environment, or try searching for a local service to assist you (ask them about "bucket service." Enjoy the journey of creating a loving space for your shelter dog!
I have three small dogs and scoop almost every day. When the kitchen trash goes out, pooh goes in that.
