Much easier and cheaper to get the salt from salt evaporators like the ones I'm seeing looking out the window. Surprised the mines lasted as long as they did.

To be fair, I do acknowledge the mines in Detroit still produce some salt for road usage.

But it's barely anything compared with the past.
