I'm a Canadian that currently attends dental school at the University of Detroit Mercy. I live near Downtown Detroit, but I'm planning on moving to Windsor in May when my lease expires. Do alot of people who live in Windsor commute to Detroit for school/work? What is border crossing like with the NEXUS card? Does it get busy often? How are the border agents? Are they the strict mean types? I've heard stories of vehicles getting randomly searched for inspection when they cross the border and that is the LAST thing I would want when I'm attending classes 5 days a week (especially if I have an exam that day).

Thanks

I work with some people who used to do it. It was a hassle. They moved to the US. There is a teacher in Grosse IEL who lives in Windsor and commutes. She has to leave a lot of extra time to ensure she will be there on time. As a result, she often arrives at work an hour early and grabs a coffee at the bakery. Some people wanted to try to get her a boat, buecase it woudl be a lot faster for her, but I do not think that ever happened. The problem is you never know when it will be backed up.
