Hello.

I'm planning an overseas vacation this summer and almost all of my car rental options are manual vehicles. (I'll also be driving on the left; however, have had plenty of experience with this during my other international trips.) My questions are as follows:

1. Are there any dedicated manual/stick shift driving schools in Douglas County or Colorado in general?

2. If dedicated schools do not exist, can you recommend a school that offers superior adult manual lessons?

In either instance above, I need the school to provide the vehicle as we only own automatics.

Thank you!

Lesson for manual?
I don't know about driving school but it's not really that difficult.
You already know how to drive.
All you have to do is find a car with manual shift and drive few hours. Done.
I drove one few years ago after years on automatic and had only one trouble at an uphill traffic light but otherwise just gets used to after few stop and go.

Thank you for the responses. No friends with manuals otherwise I'd just have them teach me. I could potentially rent a car for the day but 1) manual rentals are difficult to locate and 2) for the cost of a day's rental I might as well purchase a lesson or two.

It will be next to impossible to find a Rental that is a stick, Outside of "High End" Sports Cars.

I would suggest, looking for some local sports car clubs, and see if you can make a contact there.

Test drive stick shifts at various car dealers?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I did find a school that teaches adults stick and provides the vehicle. For reference:

A+ Driving School - Welcome!

Appreciate the creative responses but I do want to learn properly and without fear of damaging someone's vehicle. :-)

I have a buddy who lives out of state and wanted to learn to drive a stick. Were he in state,I would have taught him on my car. He found a beater Toyota Tercel for $1500 and drove it for a month, then sold it for about the same amount.
