Yes, the central branch was temporarily in the Hauer building. And I don't know about a connection to a Park Ave resident, but do know that the Hauer building was previously home to the Sachs Pruden Ale Co/Brewing Company.

Great information. Thank you! If I remember what I read correctly (I cannot find the original source), one of the founders of that brewing company owned an outlot on Park Drive in South Park. I did not pay close enough attention when I was reading, because I was skimming quickly looking for information about the Olmsted project. I haven't been in the Hauer Building for many years, but I spent a lot of time there as a teenage musician many, many moons ago.
