Used to live in the 45420 years ago. The Dabel post office is a joke. Lost mail, late mail etc. Took 2 months for a Christmas card to go through one side of the zip code to the other. LOL

For the few miles that Kettering shares a border with Dayton, one block is Dayton and the other is Kettering and you can't tell by looking. That also goes for Oakwood's border with Kettering.

At the end of the day, that's what matters. Much of Dayton is a desirable-looking community. You can tell - just by looking - that the area is decent. Unfortunately, much is nicknamed "Little Detroit" for good reasons.

Thankfully, Oakwood and Kettering put a stop to the Dayton machine. I want to be dead before areas I grew up in become bombed-out wastelands ( assuming that happens ).

You may be getting Oakwood homes, which are in 45409 and-19. Oakwood does not have a postal designation as a city. Mail is addressed Dayton, OH. -09 and -19 consist of Kettering and Oakwood homes. Hope you managed to find something!

A friend of mine technically lived in Centerville and Centerville school district, but her mailing address was Dayton. My former in-laws lived in Beavercreek and their mailing address was Dayton also. So the real estate searches may be hitting those areas that are technically in a suburb and suburban school district, but have a mailing address with Dayton.
