Just wondering whats the going rate for daycare in the metroplex. Make sure to include age of child and how much you pay as well as the type of daycare (ie. home based, nanny, etc.)

I paid $1000/month at first presby downtown for NB-3 mos with lower rates for upper age brackets on a 6 month basis. I have heard that it can get down to $700 other places. I thought it was pricy, but the daycare was outstanding.

The center based daycares I've looked at for my 4 year old over the past couple of years have ranged from $150-225/week.
The infant rooms at the daycares I've looked at have ranged from $225-$280/week.
I think homebased care is generally cheaper, but I personally feel more comfortable with a center.
These were all in Lewisville/The Colony/Carrollton area.

If I might add, I would recommend you go with a church (i.e. non-profit). There are day-care chains out there, but I never used them because I felt they will most likely view me as a client, and my child as a product. Maybe It's just me, but they have to turn a profit, and I think that makes a world of difference.

I pay $680 a month in Plano for my 5 year old to go to daycare/private full day Kindergarten at a center. The rates for younger kids were higher. $680 is the lowest rate they have, I believe.

I got quoted $210 a week in Plano at one of the larger chain places for a 4mos old baby. Man I am not looking forward to paying that kind of money! Maybe I can get my mom to move here from Florida...probably not.

Tell her you'll pay her $175/week to move here.

I used to pay $310 per week for an infant in MN! Highest costs in the country.

I was so happy to see the prices down here. I pay $170 for a toddler now. It's a church-based program which has been much better quality (from a teaching and caregiving standpoint) than the chain's we used to use.

Man y'all are lucky.... out here in CA we're paying $1170 a month for less than 2 year old.

One of the main reasons why people w/ families who makes <100k a year are leaving to TX.

I found from $125-$250 per week. It ranges depending upon promo. etc. I would prefer center based intead of home based a) less social skill b) limited contingency option. I liked the montessori based education (European system) during early development..
