They are (correction) reported missing after 'Running Away’
Mint Butterfield (who uses they/them) was last seen on Sunday, April 21 in Bolinas, California according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
Mint Butterfield, 16, vanished from their mother's home in affluent Bolinas, on April 21. Their mom, Flickr founder Caterina Fake, reported them missing the following day.
Mint's father, Stewart Butterfield, moved back to his native Canada shortly after his daughter was born in 2007
They are the child of Slack cofounder and former CEO Stewart Butterfield according to NBC Bay Area, The San Francisco Standard and the San Francisco Chronicle. He is currently estimated to have a personal wealth of $1.6 billion, according to Forbes.
Officials told the San Francisco Standard that the teen has a history of substance abuse and has been previously seen in the Tenderloin area — which is located about 30 miles from where they were last seen in Bolinas.
Mint regularly travels to the violent Tenderloin neighbourhood in San Francisco, where they own an address, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hope that nothing happens to them on their way to SF.
Three possibilities - tired of parents and house rules, drugs craving or ransom. Or a combination of the above.

Investigators are treating the case as a “voluntary missing juvenile” due to the 16-year-old’s status as an “at-risk” teen with a previous threat of suicide.
Mint left a note for mother Caterina Fake indicating they had left the family home in Bolinas.
“We have no information to believe there is abduction,” - police said.

Mint was believed to be in the Tenderloin, a neighborhood they were known to frequent because mother and child also shared a residence in San Francisco.
Mint left the home with a suitcase at an unknown time during the night or early morning, but it was unclear how Mint left the area, as they did not have access to a vehicle or phone.
I bet the SF police is now canvasing the Tenderloin area.
No word about their father, yet.
I just wonder, why there is no video from surveillance camera(s). You would think that such rich people, and especially with a child at risk, would have some sort of surveillance set around the house.
