Yep. This doesn't sound much like a Florida Man thing to me. It's more of a "highly educated" narcissistic, "parenting is such a pain" thing.
But in this day and age, there's not the kind of societal pressure to have kids, that there was before. Nobody held a gun to their heads. If you want to be a child-free couple, you're free to do that.
BUT.....do we know they are educated professionals? There was very little in that story to say such, just that they were "scientists". Their names were not even mentioned as "Dr."......so what are they?

Yes, one would have thought that such highly educated scientists would have known where babies come from and used proper birth control if they did not want to be parents.
I hope those babies are going to be o.k. I'm so glad that the oldest child's teacher was tuned in and astute enough to call the authorities when her student made that odd comment about the cages. That teacher is a hero.
