The title says it all but makes you think the gator was in the alley behind the bar.

While it's true FL has many retail places with an alley for trash and delivery behind the store or bar and a pond/small lake adjacent to it is pretty common. So, yea a gator could be waiting nearby.

The video is like Jaws movie attack. How long it stays up, I don't know.

Here's something very scary. There's a jogging/walking trail with a big pond I went around this weekend and I couldn't make out what it was, but something big fell down one of the small palm trees into the brush near a pond. It wasn't a coconut or husk. Can small or medium sized gators crawl up a 12 ft palm tree?

Not a gator, don't know what you mean by "big". Could be a bobcat, large iguana, python etc.

Also, I think that video is from the tri-athlete attack and not the behind the bar attack.

Night swimming is a big no-no.

Maybe a large iguana or python. The whole tree shook. I made the decision to go look because that never happens on that path.

Well, that's the news headlines for the story. They said it was a man behind the bar swimming at night who happened to be a triathlete. Dumb decision.

"News" media has a lot of versions of this I guess. The version I read was the guy was a patron of the bar and had to take a squirt. So the line to the bathroom was apparently long so he decided to take a quirt in the pond out back. Since he was liquored up, he somehow fell into the water and that's when the gator responded to the Scooby snack.

Read the caption below the video. The video isn't from the drunk guy getting attacked-this was a triathlete that got bit but got away. And it was last year.

And no...gators can't climb trees.

Wow, two completely separate gator incidents where each guy loses an arm and lives. Fascinating.
