Surprised I didnt' see a thread discussing the incredible Stanley Cup series our Blue Jackets are in against the Penguins...
I was at Game 4, and that was the most electric environment and loudest sporting event I've ever attended (most fun too)...even louder than some of the loudest OSU football games i've been to like 05 Texas, or 06 UM.
Columbus really showed off well to the nation.

We are huge hockey fans and love the Blue jackets. We saw that game on TV and was so excited.
I can't wait to see the game in Pittsburgh. Go Jackets

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of hockey, but I tend to casually follow the goings-on of Columbus sports. The CBJs have just not had consistent success so I'm not sure most thought they would even make it this far, let alone win against one of the best teams in the sport. I imagine a lot of fans and casual observers like myself are waiting for the inevitable failure. Hopefully that doesn't happen, because the team needs to see success, and they seem to have turned things around the last few years. We'll see, but at the very least, they have given people some reason to feel excited about them again.

I didn't even realize Columbus had a hockey team until the Blue Jackets made the finals. :-) That 4th game was such an amazing come back. Hope they win again tonight!!

One of the things I did not like about Ohio when I came here from the north east in 1973 was a complete lack of hockey. Cleveland had the Barons in the NHL but that was short lived. I was glad to see Columbus get the Jackets and even more so to see them in the playoffs again and making it a tough series for Cindy Criesby and the Pens.

People around town are really excited. The Jackets are the youngest team in playoffs, so even if they can't get past the Pens, there is a lot of hope for future seasons. Can't wait to go to game 6 tonight.

Yeah, the momentum is clearly more positive the last 2 seasons. Last year's end-of-the-season winning streak and near-playoff spot was pretty incredible, and this season's playoff appearance, regardless of what happens tonight, has definitely changed the feeling of this team.

Not a hockey fan, but I'm happy for the Jackets and the trouble they gave a former champion in the playoffs. Not many people gave the franchise a chance after Rick Nash left (including some on this forum at the beginning of the season).

I will hand it to the fans here in Columbus...when a team puts forth the effort to win, and build a winner...they show up...all 3 games in Columbus had the NHL talking...nearly had the miracle come back in game 6...that never quit atitude will keep a lot of people rooting for them as well.

Great first playoffs by a very young team (I don't think any of the current players were on the team that got swept 5 yrs ago).
