I read about a year ago about the large plot of land in Fairfield County that was being marketed for a large vehicle manufacturing plant or other large manufacturing plant. So, when the Scout Motors production facility was announced, I thought it was for the Fairfield site. But then I later noticed the Scout site is near Blythewood in Richland County. I never knew that a large site of this size was available in Richland County. Why did Scout choose this site over the Fairfield site? Where does this now leave the Fairfield site?

I suspect the Fairfield megasite hasn't lost a bit of viability and will likely land a big tenant in the near future.

Well, if you drive down I-77, you’ll also notice the Fairfield site isn’t ready still. And that a ready to go site was one of Scouts requirements.

I thought it was more or less there already. Did some Googling and came across this: https://www.constructionjournal.com/...87a103752.html

Hopefully it will get some spin off from the SCOUT site. Arent both Richland and Fairfield Counties invested in this site.. though it is physically in Fairfield County? I thought it was some multi county industial park or something that would allow for multiple adjacent counties to put money in it and share in the revenue.. but I could be mistaken.

Did someone mention a second site adjacent to Scout Motors for a potential expansion (I assume Audi EVs)? Everything between I-77 and Blythewood Road until the neighborhoods/industrial park is Scout Motors, but there's that smaller plot of land across I-77 that could be in scope:

The new exit to Highway 21 and rail spur would split the site, but maybe that's okay?
