Marshall Tucker Band and The Sparkletones, both from Spartanburg. Swingin’ Medallions from Greenwood. Hootie & the Blowfish from Columbia. The Villagers, a 60’s beach music band from upstate SC, included Cliff Ellis, CCU’s basketball coach who also coached at Clemson and Auburn. A bunch of other beach music bands from SC.

No one has named this rarely known group and a nice song. The gals were from SC and went to NY to begin their career and ended up in London.

Bill Pinkney was born in Dalzell and lived in Sumter. He was the last surviving member of The Original Drifters.
