Much Thanks!
Hello Famlife,
I have seen all kinds of insects out here. Have also seen one garden snake in the road last month. So far the craziest looking bug I've seen got in my house last month. It was the long horned wood boring beetle.
Silly me forgot and left the porch light on and attracted all kinds of crazy insects to my house.

I'm not thrilled with all the wasp around either, but they do keep the spider population down. I had a spider jump on my leg and out of no where came a ground wasp that snagged it, wrestled around with it on the ground and they both died.

Like COflower said, be cautious and wear proper clothing.

Speaking on scorpions specifically - it depends on which area of Pueblo. They are all over Pueblo and pretty much in a horizontal line out to the east but it's going to depend on the exact area. If you're curious check iNaturalist for Centruroides vittatus. Generally speaking you will get them most by the reservoir and by the river. Canon City seems to also have a lot of them. I have killed many dozens in the northeast part of Pueblo, but they are infested in the area due to heated empty buildings. They're nowhere near as common as in Texas, however once they are established they can exist in surprisingly large groups. Keep a tidy area and be mindful of them and you likely will not have problems. Keep a messy yard and have plenty of access points to your home and you may end up with them.
