I am planning for a vacation to visit my son who moved to Colorado a few years ago.
He has moved from Denver to just outside of Brush
I would like to visit when it is warm enough to enjoy doing outdoors activities like some fishing in the area.
Is Mid-May a good time for being on/near the small reservoirs? Is the fishing good this time of year?
Thanks

I don't know how good the fishing will be, but mid-May should be fine for outdoor recreation if it doesn't snow. The average daily high will probably be in the mid-to-upper 60s, and the overnight lows will be in the 40s.

My wife grew up in Brush, and we lived with my MIL for a few months when we moved back to Colorado. There isn't a lot of scenery out there, but you can see the mountains in the distance from Fort Morgan. You could probably drive out to Pawnee Buttes, too, if the roads are dry. They're about an hour from Brush.

It can be good; May the weather can go either way, and you can avoid some of the crowds. It is also the ideal time for migrant birds at the reservoirs.

May is aptly named. It may rain, the sun may shine, it may snow, it may hail, it may be calm, it may be windy.

It’s like Winter has it out for spring. In keeps coming in as if to say, “And another thing.”
