I am looking to move to Grand Junction and would like to know if anyone can recommend apartments or rentals with good management and good reputation/reviews.

Budget: $1,400/mo maximum (year lease or month to month)
Size: Studio or 1 bedroom (any sq. footage is fine) - apartment complex, townhouse/duplex fine.
Amenities: In-unit washer/dryer, dish washing machine and private bathroom
Requirement: Access/Support for high speed internet service
Move-in target date: early 2024 (Jan through April).
Nice to Have: Thick/dense walls, solid construction so you don't hear noisy neighbors.

I don't have any pets, so no pet places are fine.

I see some listings on Zillow in Fruita just outside of GJ which seems like a nice area. If there are any areas I should definitely avoid, then please let me know, I've visited GJ before, but am not familiar with different areas.

Open to anywhere in the general area - does not have to be downtown or in GJ proper (Fruita, Palisade, Redlands fine, etc.).

Here's a SFH in that area for only $1.5k/month with W/D and DW.

My cynicism would have me say that here in America there are no quiet apartments with solid construction.

Thank you - looks like a nice little house that could work. I used to live in a solid building that had concrete walls and I couldn't hear a peep from neighbors, but I know that's probably the exception.

Avoid Clifton. Its the “bad” part of the valley. It’s the area between Grand Junction and Palisade. 50% of all the police activity in Mesa County happens in Clifton.

Downtown GJ, the Redlands, North GJ, Fruita are all nice areas. Palisade is nice too, but rentals almost don’t exist there.

GJ is just now building more and more apartments. The city was way behind. So there will be a bunch of new stuff coming online. You may get lucky and get one of the new apartments they are building downtown.

There is also a big new redevelopment going in by the Colorado River called Dos Rios. Lots of new dwellings, shops, etc there in the future.

Lots of new restaurants and bars in downtown GJ. The city is growing quickly.

Thanks a ton Cheesehead! I have read bad things about Clifton in the past and appreciate you confirming what the latest is. My only other concern might be flood risks (colorado river areas) I guess. Ok, I'll stick to the areas you mention as being nice.

There is little concern of flooding in the Valley with all the civil work done along river.
Make sure you drive the Colorado National Monument, bike or walk the Riverfront Trail. Go up on the Grand Mesa. Check out all the festivals and music events. The Valley has a lot to offer.
