I'll be staying at the Aspen area in mid-July with family and am looking for recommendations on fun family activities. The kids are only 5 so whitewater rafting or mountain biking are probably out, but there must be other outdoor activities for their age. Are there interesting restaurants or stores in the area that we must check out?

Head down to Glenwood for half a day. Hit the Hot Springs and the caverns or amusement park.

Right outside of Aspen is the grottos. Fun for kids to climb around.

You can head up to ********, an old ghost town. It blanks out the town name for some reason. It’s A. S. H. C. R. O. F. T

There are also places to horseback ride as you head up to Maroon Bells.

There’s a dancing water fountain in downtown that kids seem to love.

Lance Armstrong lives in town. Maybe he’ll take your kids for a bike ride.
