I like what I'm seeing for real estate in Johnstown, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be working in Fort Collins or towards Denver. How would the commute be between those areas? How does snow impact that commute?

Thank you!

Johnstown to Greeley would be ideal. Johnstown to Fort Collins is less than perfect. Johnstown to anywhere in Denver would be a nightmare. I 25 is a crowded congested mess from Fort Collins all the way to Longmont and again from 120th Avenue to the Denver Tech Center.

Right now the commute from Downtown Denver to Downtown Johnstown is a shade under an hour according to Google Maps. You can probably add 30-40 minutes to that during rush hour, and snow can easily double that commute if the storm is gnarly enough.

Downtown to Johnstown is easily an 1:15 during a good rush hour, get a wreck or two along I-25 and you are easily at 2 hours. I have been stuck for over 3 hours to get from downtown Denver to Johnstown in bad weather with a wreck or two.

The commute into Fort Collins is not as bad, it will likely take you about 25 minutes to get into Fort Collins, the problem is that Fort Collins can easily take a half hour itself to get across town, so it depends on where you need to get to in Fort Collins.
