You do realize every other division has a playoff with no problem. In fact every other sport in the NCAA except FBS football has a playoff. Im pretty sure they can work out the schedule
I am a huge college football fan, have been for 60 years, but enough is enough. You can talk about other divisions all you want, maybe they need to cut back. Between playoffs and bowl games, it seems like the kids are not in school for any education. OK, we all know, some of them are not, but it still remains, they are supposed to be where they are to learn something, not just how to throw, catch or tackle.

A playoff system would be a "cutback" with the top 16 schools competing versus the current roster of EIGHTY which is freaking ridiculous when you add up all of the bowl games. Of course the numbnuts that do the rankings will need to figure out that all unbeaten-one loss teams should be eligible for the playoffs.
I say leave it be. Only let the top 4 teams in. If your team isn't good enough to be in the 4, just wait til they are good enough. Top 8 or 16 has two many chances for an upset.
On a side note.. It's a trip that they have games 5 night a week now. Thurs-Mon.
Also look for them to play many, many more 'neutral site' games at NFL stadiums.. It's just a way to get around the no alcohol sales at college stadiums. The ncaa is leaving millions on the table with no alcohol sales.

The expanded Playoff will now be switching to a 5-7 format, with the 5 highest ranked conference champions getting a spot, and 7 at large teams. Originally it was going to be a 6-6 model, but with the Pac-12's demise, the powers at be decided to change that.
