I visit thrift stores all of the time and do very well at them.

Last item I purchased was this morning.

A boxed set of Fire King jadeite colored C handle cups for 14.99.

Huge profit potential in the cups and the original box always adds a ton of value to any item.

Always look for items in original boxes!

Thank you.

One of the things I found yesterday I found a super rare color of gay fad anchor hocking cookie jar and a 1950s desktop telephone without the cord.

Martha Stewart tried to copy the huge collectors of jadeite by making it in China but what she missed was the fact true jadeite collectors know the difference and want the original Fire King jadeite and not some fake item from china.

Share your finds and your stories.

That is fine with me as I love to see what others find. I feel thrift store and second hand stores are the same in a way other then large thrift stores get items for free and many local smaller thrift stores are items purchased for re sell but they still call themselves thrift stores.

Post a picture of it in the new sticky thread, what is it? who made it? etc at the top of this section and we can see if someone can help you ID the item, help with value, age etc.

Today I picked up three items I normally would not purchase but could not pass on them.

Scottie Pippen Chicago Bulls jersey
Emmitt Smith Dallas Cowboy jersey
Ping golf club bag like new.

Normally looking for antiques or collectibles and happens to walk by the golf club rack and spotted the Ping bag and could not believe someone would donate it. Like brand new.

Then spotted the jerseys at the end of the rack going towards the wall of small items.

I got 2 records today

1) Gordon Lightfoot - Summertime Breeze
2) RATT - Invasion of your privacy

I HAD THIS ON CASSETTE AND IT SOUNDED LIKE CRAP....... (I had an SR copy (Spectral recording) but I do believe the cassette and CD share the same master,i saw another copy of the cassette which said it used a digital master))

The record itself sounds amazingly good!! (As I would expect (UNLESS IT WAS DIGITALLY COMPROMISED (Like Bryan Adams 4th Album 'Reckless' (Digitally Mixed) which thankfully it wasnt!!)))

Gordon Lightfoot. Wow, almost forgot about him. Great voice.

My todays find was a 1940s wood spinning wheel in great condition and all parts still intact.
