We are headed to Carolina Beach for the first time next week. I know we will want spiced steam shrimp and hopefully some steamed blue crab to bring back to the condo one night. Any recommendations on a seafood shop or place we can pick those up already prepared? Thanks!

Good luck with that I tried 3 different restaurants none had seafood from the Carolina coast.
If you eat any now it more than likely tainted from dispersents in the Gulf where
they import every restaurant at CB we went to

Shrimp and crab-Probably from an Asian country. The main source of shrimp in the US is China. Always ask the restaurant where the seafood they serve comes from. Let them know you want fresh, locally caught and not farmed raised, imported meat product.

How about a seafood truck or market of some sort? It doesn't have to be from a restaurant. I would be nice if it were prepared and I know sometimes markets do that for you.

you could go to a place called "Catch," in downtown Wilmington. check their hours beforehand, which are a bit funny.

if it were me, i'd go to Alford's Seafood in monkey junction. go pick up some fresh seafood there and cook it yourself.

As for shrimp, Shuck n' Shack only serves local Carolina shrimp. I believe you can get Carolina fish at Havana's, Michael's and maybe Jack Mackerels but you should definitely ask first just to be sure.

You can get locally caught crabs and freshly caught fish from Blackburn Brothers Seafood (it is a fish market in CB) but you have to cook them yourself. You may also want to check the seafood market next to the CB lake, they used to steam the crabs for you.

Good luck and enjoy!
