respectfully disagree.

one of my favourite things about boston is the street layout although it has wasted a lot of my time doing circles downtown.

Hmmm, from a perusal of this thread, it would appear that there are those posting here who have been to both cities, and would disagree with you. These cities have their similarities, but are different enough that they may appeal to different people in various ways. Not too difficult to see how it could easily be a matter of personal taste as to which one someone would prefer. I like both cities, by the way, but, like some others here, I'm a homer on this one . . . Boston.

Parts of it, yes...but Center City is easily one of the most beautiful downtowns in the country and there are tons of beautiful neighborhoods in Philly too. They have several neighborhoods that rival some of our most beautiful neighborhoods (I've seen pictures of some of Philly's older neighborhoods and mistaken them for Beacon Hill). I'm sure some of the Philly forumers wouldn't mind posting some pics of their neighborhoods, right? That's exactly what this thread needs, more pictures! I'll be back later with some snaps.

Somehow we've gone 7 pages in without any pictures! How is that even possible for two beautiful cities like Philly & Boston? Here's some of Boston:

Here's some pictures of my favorite neighborhood in the country: Back Bay

Your turn Philly!

i'm just posting links because i didn't take any of these..some pretty great views of center city philly in these posts...tmac's right, there are a lot of similarities in the architecture of both cities. granted, there weren't any tours of the seedy run down areas in north & south Philly. rightly so

from skyscrapercity.com

Philadelphia's Center City - SkyscraperCity

PHILADELPHIA City Tour (3/9/09): Part 1 - SkyscraperCity

Awesome pics of Philly! It's ridiculous how similar the architecture is of these two cities...take a look at the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia:

And Trinity Church in Boston:

Eerily similar!

P.S. They should change the name of the Signer Statue to the Singer Statue...it looks like that dude is rockin out haha. Yes, I am that funny.

Nice picture sets...These are two of the best built cities in America. It's actually refreshing to see them both considering that you can do far far worse than either.
