I wanted to do the Western US versus the Eastern US cause I thought that would be fun and really interesting but I'm tired and this is alot more manageable, so maybe later.

Don't care about culture.

The West Coast, easily. Overall more scenic, more variation, more climate choices, more different settings, and some of my favorite cities.

Points for comparison:
States- West Coast
Cities- West Coast
Economy- East Coast

Transportation/Airports/Ports (Also for economy)/Roads/Rail- West Coast on seaport, freight rail, airports, but East Coast on public transit.

Things to do/Amusement Parks/Outdoors/Beaches/Cities- West Coast rather easily.

My vote, West Coast is the best coast, in my opinion (for what I prefer).

I prefer the east coast. It has more large cities, more urban cities, better history, better connected, the nation's capital, more top universities, larger economy, closer to the most populous region of Canada, more accessible to Europe. The main advantage of the west coast is stunning natural scenery. But even in that respect, the east coast is pretty good.

I love both coasts for different reasons. I love the barrier islands and warm summer currents of the beaches on the east coast. I also love the dramatic cliffs, rugged scenery, and big surf of the west coast. Both coasts have fabulous cities and easily have the most international appeal in America.

Although the topography in nice on the east coast it really cannot compare to the natural superlatives of the west. From Maine to about Maryland/Virginia the topography looks pretty much the same with some slight variations. Basically the stony rounded peaks of the Appalachians down to the rolling hills and eventually coastal lowlands with marshes and barrier islands are consistent from Georgia all the way up to Southern New England.

The west coast has much more diversity of spectacular landscapes. Washington State alone has dramatic rocky ocean beaches, several islands, a temperate rain forest, rolling hills, lofty mountain peaks, volcanic mountains, semi arid agricultural valleys, a dessert, and canyons with rapid change in climate zones and stunning scenery. California has much of that too plus inland desserts. I love how on the west coast one can be in the middle of a thriving cosmopolitan city then disappear into uncrowded wilderness within a 1/2 hour. The scenery out west is good for the soul.

Is that all you got? "nuff said" is a cop out with a poor choice of grammar
