Is the new Habitat for Humanity neighborhood going to be on the same street as the Crestdale Crossing neighborhood? I looked on the Matthews subdivison map on the Matthews town website and it shows that it is going right near it and is on one of the streets. That doesn't sound too good for Crestdale Crossing.

There have already been Habitat for Humanity homes near Crestdale Crossing for several years - it's no big deal.

Perhaps you are confusing homeowners of homes built by Habitat for Humanity with section 8 housing tenants or people in projects?? Habitat for Humanity is an awesome program and not some government run entitlement program.

Default Habitat Homes vs. Crestdale Crossing

The first Habitat homes in Matthews were built some 10+ years before Crestdale Crossing was even thought of. That whole area where the CC subdivision is now wasn't nothin' but a dirt road when Habitat for Humanity came to Matthews. For those curious, "Crestdale Crossing" is actually crossing "Crestdale", a generations-old historically black neighborhood in Matthews, many of whom's descendants still live there, and some of whom were the recipients of the first Habitat homes in Matthews off Charles St. In other words, Habitat was there first.
