I'm pretty new to the area and have some friends coming to visit in a few weeks. We are looking to start the night with happy hour Thursday night in Mt. Pleasant and Friday night downtown Charleston. Any suggestions on places to go that have a fun happy hour with good - preferably - local seafood?

Red's Ice House on Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant is a great place to go
Yep, Reds has a good happy hour.
There are several downtown. There are a couple of rooftop places (Vendue and Market St. Pavillion). Fleet Landing has a great view right on the water - and parking. Pearlz supposedly has a good happy hour too.
Thanks for the suggestions! I have heard food is not very good at reds so we'll probably end up there later. What about Sullivans Island for seafood & happy hour? Any suggested places there?

On Sullivans Island, I would suggest Off the Hook and Poe's.
We went to Red's last night, just out of curiosity, since so many of you had recommended it. I get a little wonky with crowds, so we left. It looks like a fun place, so I'm hoping that it's tamer during the week..? We ended up driving all around looking for a calmer scene, but it looks like Saturday night is a busy bar night here in Mount Pleasant. We ended up in Tequila on the Border, and that place is pretty awful. What I'd really like to find is a neighborhood bar with a wide tequila selection. Any tequila connoisseurs on this board?
