I am pretty sure they are safe. I doubt the Russians want to exterminate the Ukrainians. Russia has yet to accidently drone strike children like America has done a a few times.
When my daughter was touring China with another teacher, they heard there were "Cat Cafes" there.
They asked their guide to take them to one.
She got all embarrassed and told them she wasn't supposed to talk about that,
and they were all in the Northern Provinces were tourists were not allowed.
What they wanted were restaurants were people could take their cats and people and cats intermingled.
Their guide thought they wanted to go to a restaurant that had Cat on the menu.
