It would be interesting to look at the GDP per capita of the above charts too. Consider that CA has roughly 40 million residents, and Germany (country ranked just above CA in GDP) has 82 million residents. Simple math tells me the GDP per capita for CA will exceed most of the state GDP or world GDP lists. There are a few small oil kingdoms or tax havens that have high GDP per capita, but they have relatively small total GDP, so not a valid comparison.

LA is around $80K per capita which is very high too

Well, you would take the 2021 GDP and divide it by the 2021 population estimate. I'm assuming that's what Albuquerque101 did.
