Hi,
I'm hoping to get some information regarding Chico. This is the criteria I am looking for.

Looking for a horsey community, that doesn't require a lot of acreage to keep a horse at home. I couldn't afford a mortgage plus a horse boarding bill.

I've looked on "www.Therealestatebook.com and was very surprised that some of the housing prices were cheaper than here in CT.

I just need a small house in a horsey area that allows horses on small acreage.

How is the crime? Most important, jobs. Are they in the fire zone? Earth quake zone? "Normal" people...lol Again, relates to crime.

How many hours to the shoreline area?

Thank you very much,
Judith

I have no idea what people mean by "crime" maybe I live in the wrong part of the country. Burglary happens everywhere occasionally, few people are raped and murdered anywhere if they are not in the "wrong part of town" at the wrong time.

Chico is as safe as towns come. Horse property? Try out toward Orland or nicer,, up toward Forest Ranch, Cohassett or Cherokee

Default chico

I think Chico is a great small city and desire to live there once again myself. I've always felt safe and believe it is ideal for horses on the outskirts. Moderator cut: linking to competitors sites is not allowed

Just curious as to whether you decided to move to Chico, Judith. If so, did you find a good horsey area? Butte Creek Canyon is a wonderful area for horses. Also North Chico, around the Keefer Rd. area. Hope all is well with you!
