The Green Mile, when it first came out it was in little sections, so being impatient by nature I waited for the whole series and read it all at once. then when the movie came out I was thrilled at the cast. also needful things was a good book but the movie didnt cover enough yet the cast was great.

His newest paperback - LISEY"S STORY was very good after I got past the first few chapters. I am a person who has to finish a book no matter what
The first few chapters were written in another language it seemed like - but WOW - it was great. Very Deloris Clairbornish......

Haven't read much Stephen King. Perhaps I just haven't given him much of a chance. I read "It" and thought it was OK at best and never really tried SK after that. So maybe I need to read the Stand and really see what he's about.

Wow..my FAVorite author

The Shining is definitely my favorite book AND movie. Jack Nickolson was made for that role!!
Also LOVE Shawshank story and movie, Green mile book and movie, and Christine book and movie.
"It" the movie still keeps me up at night...the part with the clown standing out on the water with those teeth!! omg...gives me the willys every time but gotta LOVE that!
Am re-reading the Dark Tower series right now (along with 2 other books) and falling in love with it all over again.

One book of Stephen King that I have read and reread is "The Stand" I was very disappointed in the movie though. I usually am disappointed in the movie version of a great book..The "Thornbirds" though was excellent with staying in line with the book, but a mini-series can do that..Oh, I am getting sooo carried away here.."Roots",imo, was one of the very best mini series from a book mthat I can remember...Except possibly "Centenniel" by Michener. It was..... never mind..I need to put my mouse down and get some housework done

I am a big Stephen King fan ... I have read all of his books and to sit down ... in a quiet spot and read ... his characters really gets into your head. Movie versions of his books are not as good for me. Cujo ... the book you knew everything the dog was thinking which couldn't be conveyed on the big screen. Thinner, Christine, Salem's Lot (this book scared me ... just remember never never invite a vampire into your home! ) The Stand was a wonderful book! He totally amazes me with what comes out of his head onto paper. His wife writes children's books ... which is a hoot!

My favorite SK movie is Doloris Claiborne. I loved the Dead Zone and the Stand, Needful Things was great. I got hooked on Stephen King through one of his books by his psuedonym Richard Bachman and the book was Thinner.

I have read Bag of Bones, Black House, Cujo, Dead Zone, Desperation, Dolores Claiborne, Dreamcatcher, Everythings Eventual the collection, Firestarter, Geralds Game, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Graveyard Shift, Hearts in Atlantis, Insomnia, It, The Langoliers, Misery, Needful Things, Night Shift, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Pet Sematary, The Regulators, Rose Madder, The Shining, The Stand, Storm of the Century, Thinner and Tommyknockers. I have Lisey's Story on my nightstand and just need the right stormy day to start it. Once I start a Stephen King it is hard to put it down.

I am SO glad to hear that!! I just started it today and feel like I'm in a fog. Who is speaking? WTH are they talking about? Why is she obsessing over this now trivial stuff? It's over!

That said, I like King's "couple's" books the best, Bag of Bones, Gerald's Game, and now hopefully this one.

"It" wasn't great. No wonder you didn't pick him up again. Try one of his short story books.
