I do not believe so. The Vietnamese population seems to be the only significant one in Louisiana but I don't know of any enclaves.

I've honestly not meant any Japanese people here. Most Asians here are Vietnamese American, with smaller numbers of Chinese descent. Most of the sushi places and Japanese restaurants here seem to be owned by white people.

Honestly I do not know any Japanese, but as Tom said, Vietnamese and Chinese seem to be the largest number. Also Filipino and Korean. Maybe Louisiana is not a place they care to live and work.

Sorry I am late in this thread here. I come from New Orleans and believe there's a Japan Society in New Orleans, maybe they can answer this question?

I believe the only Asian community of notable size in Louisiana is Vietnamese along with smaller communities of Chinese and Filipinos. Jefferson Parish had a sheriff who was of Chinese descent born and raised in New Orleans.

There was a gal I used to follow on Twitter with the screen name “CajunAsian”. She lives near Ville Platte and Mamou in west-central Louisiana and has a grandmother who is Japanese.

You’ll find most Japanese-Americans concentrated in Hawaii and on the west coast, in particular the Bay Area (San Francisco, San Jose), Sacramento and Southern California (Gardena, Torrance).
