That's 25% growth. Maybe by 2030.

Low crime, good schools, and diverse professional jobs. With FuturEBR the other pretty and fun amenities will fall into place. Increased academic performance from all colleges and universities in the city wouldn't hurt either.

I think safety is key. Baton Rouge and Louisiana rank annually on the wrong end of national crime stats. Better results in the public schools in East Baton Rouge parrish would help; all thought suburban choices are more than adequate. Transportation also is key, traffic management and mass transit might encourage headquarters or regional jobs sites to land in Baton Rouge.

Suburban Baton Rouge can't continue to grow and successfully sustain it's population without grow in the city itself. We have a huge pool of young professionals and we need to retain them.

I've thought about that recently, it certainly could happen but is unlikely.

That would be interesting if it happened. Just to see how it would play it. It's definitely possible though. The biggest difference in growth seems to be that Baton Rouge's suburbs are growing and attracting development, whereas there's been a shift in New Orleans with most new developments and retail choosing the city proper over the suburbs. One is growing out and the other is growing in, if that makes sense.
