I think they can fairly easily, depending on who plays obviously.
well considering that the last 2 competitive games they have played were in neutral arena's and that the usa only won by an average of 9 points I think homecourt advantage should be enough to overcome that. we saw in the last basketball world championship how important homecourt is. Turkey is an okay team but in front of their passionate fans, they become a team capable of beating basketballing powerhouses like France,Russia,Greece and Serbia. That's why I think Spain will win it, not because they are better than the USA but because they have homecourt advantage and the difference between the 2 teams isn't bigger than homecourt advantage.
If the USA used the 2012 olympic roster, there'd be no chance for Spain. P. Gasol isn't what he used to be, and Ricky Rubio is coming off a recent injury.

perhaps the usa would be favorites but I definitely wouldn't count out spain in front of their own fans.
really? Not even one person has answered this thread? was it really that bad to mention the basketball world cup?
It could be the recent name change. I'm still use to it being called the World Championship.
Regarding Spain, who are their new players? I like Rubio and Marc. But Pau and La Bamba are getting old. I think they need an infusion of young talent. Team USA has a younger group who seems ready to take over for LeBron, CP3, etc.
I love international basketball. I'll definitely be watching.
