So the big news finally became official today. AA new paint job and logo. A Comprehensive Look at the new American Airlines | The Racing Winds Blog

Photos: Boeing 737-823 Aircraft Pictures | Airliners.net

It's growing on me already. I always loved the classic scheme but it was time for a change. The scheme will take time to get used to but the logo looks good, modern and sleek.

I am not sure why they need the new logo, but it does look more American.

The logo is good. The tail is not. I wish they'd get rid of the metallic fuselage, but somehow I think that differentiates them.

I like it. I personally prefer white airliners but this is nice. The logo is good. Pretty bird.

Cheers.

The tail is horrific. Looks like an axe weilding guy just chopped it up and reassembled it with different parts.

I also am not a fan of the new logo in front of the American text. Looks like the French flag on its side.

I think it looks terrible. Bad that the eagle is dead.

I really like the fuselage (forward of tail) as it looks nice and clean, but the tail is way too busy. I like the concept, but it is way too complex. Maybe if they limited it to just the tail (as opposed to tail and fuselage), reduced the number of stripes (not sure the significance of 12 when the flag has 13 ), eliminated the stripes in the blue, eliminated the grey stripes and multicolor shadings, etc.?

I agree, I don't like it at all.

I think it looks pretty good. I'm just wondering whether it's the new American livery....or the new U.S. Airways/American livery.

Other than the color scheme for the tail. The aircraft looks like the Air Force KC135's I flew in when I was in the AF.
