Many new vehicles are assembled in a variety of countries. An American company vehicle may be made in China, South Korea, Mexico, or Canada. A European or Asian brand may be assembled in USA. Is there an easy way to find out final assembly location of a new or used vehicle? Is there a way to know what percentage of parts are made in which country?

The important stuff is on the window sticker.

Yes, to this. If you can't access a Window Sticker, the very fist digit of the VIN indicates country of manufacture.

Sometimes two but generally the first. E.G. "S" can be UK, Germany, or Poland. 7 can be either US or New Zealand.

Kogod's American Made Index is what everyone uses. It's now required to be either on the window sticker or next to it but many started having the info when it started in 2013. If you don't have the original window sticker, you can go back to Kogod's website try and find it in their Excel files. It doesn't cover everything but most common models.

Have you never decoded a VIN online of any car you have owned or considered to buy? I run almost all of the ones I have just so i know. Every VIN I have run shows the country of origin. All the posters above are correct.

The 11th character is the plant code and the definitive answer.
Example mine starts with 7. (USA or NZ). The 11th character is a G which for Volvo = South Carolina plant. So you'd have to know, for example what characters Toyota uses at # 11. So you'd Google: toyota vin plant codes.

Maybe different now, but my 2001 F350 clearly says "made in Mexico" on the door jamb sticker.
