Thank you, though Java won't work on my system and the non-Java version doesn't say anything about whether or not they are compatible. It just tells me the 8.6% circumference difference.
225-75-16. Calculates to 29.3 tall. 8.9 wide. 6.7 section height
215-65-16. Calculates to 27.0 tall 8.5 wide 5.5 section height
You're looking at a overall 2.3 inch taller tire. . If you live in a area with snow chain requirements you may have issues. Most tire shops gave a upsize chart. Americas tire says your upsize is a 225-60-16. I think you are gonna run into clearance issues in turning and cycling of the suspension over dips and bumps in the road.

I've been trying to find out with websites but am having surprisingly little luck. I feel dumb about this!
One site warns me that they would be 8-9% more circumference and that that's bad or something. I also don't know if the rims are compatible.
The "65/75" designation has to do with the height of the tire.
The "215/225" designation has to do with width.
You're wanting to put a wider, higher tire on your Odyssey. The bottom line is that you won't know for sure until you have the tires on the van - and at that point, it's too late if they don't fit.
I will not advise one way or the other on this one.
These tires are going to be notably taller, which is going to throw off the speedometer and odometer. The wider ones also might not be suitable for the stock wheels. I know years ago I went through this with my Acura; it has an oddball tire size 195/55 15" and I thought of getting a different size so I could have more local choices, but everyone's info said no wider widths were acceptable on that wheel.
What is the purpose? Someone is giving you the wrong size tires for free, or it's hard to find the right size tires? Or you're looking for the width? To go wider you actually have to get a lower profile tire to match the diameter. Instead you're looking at a higher profile tire. If you want the 225 width you could do it as 225/60 16", assuming that size exists in a tire that works for you. Again, though, you'll need an opinion for your specific wheels whether that will work, which we don't know on here. 10mm wider is about 0.4 inch, so less than half an inch, but that still may be enough to be out of tolerance for the wheels.
I can't really see a good reason to put the off size tire on your car. With them being that much bigger, you'd likely have clearance issues as well as the speedometer/odometer issue.

I've run oversized tires on several trucks. Better traction, and better load handling. But that's a whole different set of circumstances.

Greg, someone is selling 2 x 225/75s for dirt cheap locally. Two of the van's tires are bad, two are fine. I don't really have other options besides buying new for 4x the price, or hoping better sized used ones show up on the market soon.
So basically the 225/75s would be two rear tires, with stock 215/65 on the front. Or vise versa if that would be more sensible. But I don't mind if the speedometer is innacurate... I can adjust to that in my head.
