I moved to Austin Texas about 10 years ago, and learned the area very well having been from out of town. It was nice driving around and really figuring out commutes, etc. My favorite areas for kids were both in the northern suburban part of town. I really enjoyed Pflugerville (actually pronounced Fukslergerville by locals). The schools are just so well run. My kids have a high level of care from the entire staff of teachers and school professionals.

I've lived in Hutto, next to Pflugerville, for 9 years now and have never heard anyone pronounce Pflugerville that way, even locals. Maybe I need to ask one about it ( a local).

Don't bother asking. Nobody has ever pronounced it that way, unless it was some kid prefacing that pronunciation with "Boring as..."

I lived in Pflugerville for over 15 years and never heard that term.

The "P" is silent and the rest is pronounced as it's spelled.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find real locals anymore there.
Gaddy's is the only place I can think of where you'd find some.

There are. The pfluger extended family for example...The original settlers of the town.. Still reside in pflugerville. The locals tend to live in the older parts of the city or on acreage. The city hasn't fallen to transplants. Yet.

Sad to say when the new Shady Oaks Gun Range opens off 1431, my main reason for visiting Pf-ville will fade considerably(Red's Indoor Range on Pecan St). Driving half the distance to visit a brand new range is too tempting. Y'all carry on over there!

Given the taxes and water fees, it probably won't (And that's not even getting started with HOA fees!)

Give me unincorporated Bastrop at a smidge under 2.2% anytime..

I used to live in an unincorporated area as well. it's all fun and games until the city realizes that it is losing out on property tax revenue and annexes you. The tax rates aren't too onerous as the city has been decreasing the rate every year (though it doesn't matter since the property values have gone up.) The water rates for those service by City of Pflugerville and Manville aren't that bad at all (I pay $33/mo on a low water month for example, and our home is large). Unfortunately, here in Texas, companies are allowed to basically monopolize service areas. They had a role when the areas in question were rural and not part of a city. But not now. At least the City of Pflugerville is trying to work around the problem.
