My mistake. Must be one hip shaved ice place! I guess the trend is really not just a S Austin thing.

Hat Creek Burger Co. - Delicious Hamburgers, Fries, and Milkshakes! - Austin, Texas

There are some other trailers along West Sixth in the bar area (at least at night), but I haven't investigated them.
Wow, I am on W 6th fairly often, and never noticed those. The Hat creek website shows that it's near 22nd & Rio Grande, in west campus. Is the one by Star Bar new?

Me So Hungy's menu looks tasty. The spring rolls and Vietnamese sandwiches look good!

They must have moved. They were originally in a trailer right behind Star Bar, but now it looks like they even have an actual restaurant on Burnet:

Trailer Treasure: Hat Creek Burger Co. (http://www.austin360.com/tv/content/food_drink/stories/austin360/2009/10/1029xltrailer.html - broken link)

I went to Torchy's trailer (south lamar?) last weekend and saw John Krasinski (Jim from the Office.) Guess he was in town for a movie premiere. Even the celebrities love the food trailers!

Up around Four Points / 620 there is a Hey Cupcake, an ice cream/cupcake trailer (can't remember what it's called), and several little taco trailer's.

Kebab is more like a restaurant than a trailer....a lot of things cooking/going on in the big Kebabwagon.....and oh my the flavors....
you can smell Kebab about a block away.....

BTW, Humus usually tastes like sh*t but Kebab makes Humus taste damn good......on a nice little Pita bread thingie.......

There's a chicken and waffles trailer on Burnet near the HEB south of 2222.
There's a breakfast trailer called "Counter Culture" near Room Service on North Loop.
There's a cold noodle trailer on 51st near Duval.
There's a sushi trailer at 40th and Medical Parkway.
Plus, there are a lot of taco trailers on North Lamar and Burnet.

And probably lots more that I've missed....

Oh how I wish we had this type of thing in the burbs! I cannot figure out why it's supposedly so much cheaper in the burbs yet chain stores outweigh mom and pop joints by a lot. I know people like chains but good Lord, do we need every freaking one in existence!? My idea of opening a farmer's market is the closest thing I can think of to that home made food off a truck feeling. One can always dream.....

Ever hear of a "Roach Coach"? Those are those really tiny trailers that mexicans park near factories and office parks during breakfast, snack, and lunch breaks....they are little, but sell damn near everything, including Jerritos(Mexican Soda). Lots of tacos and burritos wrapped up, and candy, you name it......I used to run out and buy little bags of chips at the old one that came by our office park...
