I do think there is a market targeted at Seniors and their baby boomer children. My mom and grandmother are a perfect example of this when it comes to dr. appointments, shopping, setting up new phones, etc. I am currently researching the possibility of starting a service(non-medical) targeted at this demographic. Any ideas for types of services that people would be willing to pay for? Would 22/hr on a subscriber service be in the range. This price would include many "freebies" such as travel, bill paying, home inspection, caller service.

Default Personal Assistant Available

I am currently looking for a personal assistant position - either on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis. Ideally I'd like to work with an individual or family in the Austin-area on a permanent, long-term basis. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can target the Austin community to make my services available?

Network through mom's groups, especially those with a high percentage of employed moms. Those are the families most in need of some help and with the income to pay for it. We found our assistant through a neighborhood women's association. She works 15-20 hours per week for our family and helps other families the other hours during the week.

I just used a cleaning service and yes, the price was a bit excessive. They did a good job, but I'll probably only use them once a month because of the cost.
