AA grew way too much in Austin. Austin is not an airline hub. Reductions are to be expected.

I mean what makes an airline hub is an airline routing connections through the airport, which AA was very much doing in Austin. ABIA is super gate constrained at the moment so I think it's good to not waste limited gate space this way, especially with the south terminal closing.

I really hope Delta will pick up some of the gates. It's such a better experience flying with them compared to AA and SW.

That's disappointing. There weren't enough non-stops as it was.

I wonder how much traffic those deleted routes carried. I am guessing some might not have been profitable, either because of the location or because of the time.
