Regarding inflation, I will agree with that much. I do think employers should strive to meet inflation rates at the very least, as well as reward for job longevity and experience, and employers everywhere (not just Austin) have this problem. It was worse in Atlanta where I moved from, which is what prompted me to move.. ..but neither state are reputable for rewarding job for progression, which is why it is hard to be a loyal employee and why I will likely never be one.
