Or maybe they don’t have as many damaged power lines as we do.

From what I have read, they expect it to remain off for 48 Hours

I initially thought it was damaged infrastructure but after reading, they are not cycling the power. The areas that they disabled will overload the grid if they re-enable them which is why they are keeping them off, other areas in the grid have critical infrastructure so they can't disable them.

City officials have said the outages are not due to damaged lines but the "rolling" blackouts.

Wouldn't that suck.its almost literally freezing in my apartment, it'll be freezing by night and with no hot water or any water, going to be rough 48 hrs. Guess I might have to charge my almost dead phone in my car if that's the case.

I feel you, even with power its still uncomfortably cold in my home. I would be bitter pissed if I came to find I had to deal with this for 48 hours without power.

My mom is currently charging her phone in her car. She has propane for the grill, so she can cook. She can light her gas stove with a lighter to heat water.

Greg Abbott’s tweet:

Quote:

The Texas power grid has not been compromised.

The ability of some companies that generate the power has been frozen.

This includes the natural gas & coal generators.

They are working to get generation back on line.

ERCOT & PUC are prioritizing residential consumers.
