So, when I was a kid living in Austin in the late 70s, part of an independent movie was filmed in my neighborhood in Austin. They needed local kids to do a scene on a playground. I was chosen to throw a football to a kid who was the focus of scene. Fuzzy memory recalls one of the guys saying the working title of the movie was "Death Mask."

Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? Google searches have been fruitless.

Could it be Outlaw Blues with Peter Fonda? It was filmed in Austin in the mid to late 70's. It was filmed when the Austin police cars were sky blue in color.

Honeysuckle Rose was filmed in Austin in the late 70's.

Texas Chainsaw Mascre was filmed partly in Austin in the mid 70's.

I'll bet there's a Facebook page for Austin history. San Antonio has one that is just phenomenal. Ask for info on any subject, going back decades (centuries!) and you'll get an answer in minutes. I once asked for info about a long-demolished motor court where my family stayed for a couple months back in 1966 when my father was transferred to Kelly AFB. Had a picture within half an hour. I think FB is a better platform for that kind of activity.

This is just an off-the-wall memory, but there was also a Roger Corman horror movie filmed in and around San Marcos in 1978, called "Piranha" (Piraña). It was a hoot.

Ha! I actually found and saw this movie, a couple of years ago, when I was actively trying to figure out what this movie was. But no, this wasn't it. At least, there was no scene of me as a kid throwing a football to another kid.

Great idea. I'll take a look.

Honestly, I know this is long shot. I don't know if the movie was ever completed, and if it was, I don't know if the scene we shot at the playground actually made it into the movie. And if the movie ever was completed, I don't know if it was ever actually distributed. I just took a chance to see if anybody on the board might know something.

Thanks for the suggestions.
